Landscape Design + Build
Your garden, properly planned and built to last
Most landscaping problems aren't really about plants. They're about levels that don't work, drainage that's never been resolved, or a space that's never quite felt like part of the home. Getting it right means designing and building as one process, not handing off a drawing to someone who wasn't involved in making it.
All projects are led by Nick, who has more than 20 years of hands-on residential landscaping experience. He works through the design himself (levels, drainage, materials, planting), mapping out the key decisions before construction starts so nothing is made up on the day.
What you can expect
A clear design before anything is built; decisions made upfront, not on the fly
A plan tailored to your site, not a generic digital template
One team across design and construction, so nothing gets lost in the handover
Practical advice on what's worth doing and what isn't
A finished result that feels resolved and integrated with the home
Is this right for you?
Our Landscape Design + Build service suits most residential landscaping projects, whatever the starting point.
Starting from scratch
New garden, blank slate. We'll develop a design that works with the home and the site from the ground up.Established garden that needs a proper rethink
The existing garden isn't working: levels, drainage, layout or all three. We'll assess what needs to change, design a solution, and build it properly.Good bones but needs tying together
The garden has potential but feels unresolved; done in bits over the years, never quite cohesive. We'll work with what's there, improve what isn't working, and finish it properly.
The process: from plan to garden
-
1. Initial Chat (complimentary)
Call, email or message to discuss your goals and book a site visit.
-
2. Site visit (complimentary)
Nick visits your property to measure up, assess the site (drainage, access, levels) and discuss your vision. If a formal design is needed to achieve the best result, he'll recommend it at this point.
-
3. Design Stage (paid)
Nick develops a clear, to-scale, build-ready plan tailored to your site. The fee varies based on the design size and is fully redeemable if you proceed with us for the build.
-
4. Estimate + Scheduling
You'll receive a detailed estimate with clear inclusions. The design fee is deducted from the total build cost.
-
5. Construction + Finishing
We manage the entire build: from excavation through to planting, irrigation and lighting.

Landscape Design + Build FAQs
Answers to the questions Melbourne homeowners ask most.
-
Yes. Nick visits at no cost to assess the site and discuss what you want to achieve. You only pay if a formal design is needed, and that fee is redeemable against the build.
-
A clear, build-ready plan developed for your specific site: layout, levels, materials, drainage and planting all mapped out before construction begins. This is what prevents decisions from being made on the day, under pressure.
-
Not every project requires a formal design stage.
For simpler scopes, Nick can work from a site visit and a clear brief. For more complex sites (significant level changes, drainage issues or a full layout rethink) a proper plan makes a real difference to the outcome.
He'll tell you honestly which applies to your project.
-
Yes. Nick can provide a formal design without the build. Most clients find the outcome is better when the same person who developed the plan oversees the construction; the intent carries through and the finish stays consistent. But that's your call.
-
Design Stage: Design stage: only if needed, and fully redeemable against the build.
Build Stage: Hourly rate for labour, plus materials at cost with trade discounts passed on.
-
Yes, as long as the scope produces a resolved result. If staging makes sense, Nick will advise what to prioritise so it doesn't end up feeling piecemeal.
